VIOLENCE, INSTRUMENTAL RATIONALITY, AND THE COMMUNICATIVE EDUCATIONAL PERSPECTIVE
Abstract
The theme of this paper comes from the questioning about the possible relationship between the increase of violence and the implementation of a formative school-based project guided by principles of instrumental rationality, what has been increasing the bureaucratization process and turned to the assistance to systemic demands, instead of the individual needs and interests in their everyday life. As an alternative, based on Habermas, this author defends the thesis that there is a need for education to be guided by communicative principles and be inserted in the world and in life.
