Abstract

We will present, in this work, description and data analysis of nonconventional segmentations – hyposegmented, hypersegmented and hybridscollected in produced texts in a spontaneous way by children of first the fourth grades of the fundamental teaching, in two schools of the city of Pelotas (a public one and other particular). The data are analyzed and discussed under Prosodic Phonology’s perspective (cf. NESPOR & VOGEL, 1986). In agreement with the obtained results, we can affirm that the child in initial phase of writing has in her inner knowledge on the language prosody as strong motivation to segment the text in words.
