IMAGES, TEACHERS, AND IDENTITY

Abstract

This article analyzes the teachers images from an investigation with three classes of students of the three higher courses of teachers formation . The text discuss the teachers image construction from the movies images and how the teachers images and identity have been discussed in the educational field. The teachers image are analyzed by the drawings made by the students of the three courses, from the activities proposed by the discipline teacher. The text discuss the more significant elements of the produced drawings as a representation image that the students and the society perform of the teaching and with those images re feed and rebuild an image focused on the vocation.The paper concludes that students' drawings represent a particular view of teaching and teachers, based on a missionary and female profession, and states that teacher identity has been socially constructed from a conservative view.
