Abstract

The present study, which covers research as an educational principle, was developed by means of the Problematization Methodology with Maguerez’s Arch, while attempting to investigate how research is present in teachers’ education and in teachers’ pedagogical performance. It was verified that education by research promotes (re) building of knowledge and learning that goes beyond the reproduction of information. It was realized that the Legal Guidelines do not prioritize Teachers’ education with research. The teachers investigated did not come into contact with research in their professional education. The pedagogical proposal of the reference school does not consider research either. It is pointed out that there is a need of a critical reflection about educational principles so as to include research in the teaching process, and, measures promoting such experience in teachers’ education are also herein presented.
