EDUCATION, SCHOOL AND EDUCATIONAL POLICIES FROM THE PERSPECTIVE OF CRITICAL CULTURAL STUDIES
The Production of Common Sense and Hegemonic Disputes
Abstract
This article consists of an essay on education and the school in the field of critical educational studies, presenting a group of references that make explicit and seek to justify the use of the Culture War metaphor to represent the disputes among social groups to define educational policies and, ultimately, to construct social hegemony. It originates from a revisiting of the theoretical background of my doctoral thesis, in which, in a broader way, I have analyzed the disputes surrounding the definition of the current National Education Plan.
