Abstract

The study, in the context of research in education, with an emphasis on Special Education, aimed to investigate the possibility of gifted individuals present concomitantly Dyslexia. Specifically, investigate and discuss the interactive dynamics that develop in school: the likely difficulties and solutions found by teachers who work with special student. The methodology adopted was a qualitative exploratory study with data collection based on semi-structured interviews, focusing on a case study (FLICK, 2009). We interviewed the student (subject of study) and the people involved with it in the family and school. The research was conducted in two public schools: one in which the student study, and another where he receives specialized care in the Resource Room. We confirmed the hypotheses, however, recognize a student with AH / SD with cognitive capacities well above average and, on the other hand, to understand the disparity regarding the perspective of school failure, is a highly controversial issue, both for the student with AH / SD and his family, and for teachers who work with this student. This finding reinforces the importance of continuity and expansion of research in this area.
