Abstract

The expansion of the superior education in Brazil has been occurring through a legal apparatus that differentiates the institutions and the modalities of teaching and courses. Actions and politics have been developed aiming to amplify the offer of vacancies in the superior education. In this expansion, the subject teachers formation in presence or distance modality, or fitting both also have had a meaningful role. The recommendation of the international organisms about formation, the role of the Brazilian government defining politics of formation are the considered elements, aiming at identifying any relation of these last aspects with the expansion of enrolments in the superior education.
