Abstract

In this text I aim at reflecting about my teaching experience in a supervised teaching practice, during the Visual Arts Education Major at UFSM/RS, based on the research and teaching project “Body and subjectivities through the language of photography”. This research was developed under the perspective of visual culture, theoretical field which invites us to think about pedagogical practices that value experiences with images, acknowledging students as protagonists and authors of the educative process. The teaching/learning situations involved students beyond the artistic production as it incorporated different knowledge to these practices, which involve issues of subjectivities, cultural policies and social practices. Considering it as a research project, I take the importance of problematizing art, establishing relations with what the students already know. As a result of this investigation, I highlight the construction of the students‟ narratives through the language of photography during the educative process.
