Abstract

An imagining reason is triggered by the wish to contribute to the debate which brings daily life to a hermeneutical exercise. My exercise will approach two important focuses in the field of the imaginary: the ethics of instant, in the sociology of the present, in which daily life takes on a different perspective, besides some provocation towards educational routines. I have based the analysis of these issues on Michel Maffesoli’s chapter “Style and Daily Life”, in his book “The Contemplation of the World” (1995) and on the topic of experience which he proposes in his book “Praise of the Sensitive Reason” (1998). The possibility of thinking of life as a piece of art and instant as non-determination, beyond the connotation of habit, which is also found in the definition of daily life, make us face an intentional apprehension of the world that comprises interests, wishes and dreams. It is an imagining reason which experiments the symbolic dimension and brings another meaning to daily life: life that can be created. Thus, school education has some work to construct, i. e., it must pay attention to the discourses, to the practices, to the voices and to the movements of child and adolescent cultures. Therefore, it may participate in the production of other narratives and other processes which believe in creative subjects who are able to take decisions and take on the multiple possibilities of life.
