POST-GRADUATION STRICTO SENSU COURSES
evaluation of the impact on Brazilian scientific production
Abstract
Objective: To contribute with the clarification for the academic community on the metrics used in Brazil for the evaluation of scientific publications and their impact on Graduate Stricto Sensu courses. Method: This study is reflective in nature. Results: The current metrics are far from the correlation between theory and practice as proposed by Graduate Stricto Sensu courses and, as a consequence, they distance the direction of research from the needs of society, which are the main focus of the amendments of the different training proposals in this field. It is evident, however, the rapid evolution in information access and the future prospect for a change in this scenario, through new technologies and agile professional interactions. Conclusions: The challenge of creating metrics that can express the quality of scientific works regarding the needs of society, bringing theory and practice together.
