Abstract

This article discusses the expansion of charter schools in the basic educational system of the United States. It correlates such expansion with the fiery offensive put into practice since the beginning of the new millennium by the macro-structure of political and economic power - composed by the largest business conglomerates of that nation and their allies, embedded especially in mainstream media, in liberal think tanks and in the political establishment elites - in order to instrumentalize that educational system as an operational platform of a giant business sector currently worth around 800 billion dollars, only in that country.
