THE ONE LAPTOP PER CHILD PROGRAM IN PEDAGOGICAL PRACTICE
Abstract
This paper aims to analyze, in the context of curricular policies, the use of new information and communication technologies (NICT) in pedagogical practice, especially with regard to Elementary Education. The center of the study is the arrival of the One Laptop per Child Program at the first municipal school in Rio de Janeiro to engage in the Program, its unfolding and reinterpretation processes. We have observed difficulties related mainly to the search for ways to integrate the use of portable computers to pedagogical practices, very controlled by the current systems of evaluation of school performance, and observed differences among teachers in relation to the use of the new equipment.
