Abstract

This paper aims at analyzing the implementation of the Articulated Actions Plan (Plano de Ações Articuladas -PAR) (2007-2011) for continuing education of teachers at the municipality of Mossoró/RN. It presents part of a research project related to a Doctorate in Education that investigated the repercussion of such Plan. The research was guided by the principles of historical and dialectical materialism, which attempted to reveal, in the analytical description, contradictions in the object of study, that are inscribed in social relations, capable of leading to transformation and historical permanence (MARX, 2011). The study showed that the educational system of Mossoró implemented its own policy for continuing formation in schools, and its partenership with the Ministry of Education (Ministério da Educação - MEC) was limited to technical support from the latter. Many courses were implemented during the PAR period, nevertheless, they were not included in the Plan's proposals.
