THE CONCEPTS OF GENDER, SEXUALITY, DIVERSITY AND IDENTITY
Secadi’s production about th philosophy of representation and the philosophy of differences
Abstract
This paper analyzes the discourse expressed in the documents of the Department for Continuing Education, Literacy, Diversity and Inclusion (Secadi), aiming at observing if this governamental discourse is only a discursive rhetoric in a perspective of the conservative multiculturalism, or if it questions the differences as possibilities to enhance curriculum practices. It approaches the idea of inclusive education as a phenomenon that starts from the 90s on, a moment of elaboration of documents by this Departament, as well as several legal proceedings. It uses, as a methodological approach, documental and bibliographic research. It examines the concepts of gender, sexuality, diversity, and identity, questioning the supposedly universalist discourses and discusses their implications to practices and social relations.
