Abstract
The Brazilian Agribusiness Association (ABAG), national entity founded in Brasília, in 1993, implements the Agribusiness Education in School Program, since 2001, in public schools. The purpose of this article was to analyze the role of teachers in the hegemony project of the Association. It was used, as data collection procedures, interviews with 17 teachers, with the Executive Director of ABAG in Ribeirão Preto and with the coordinatos of the Program. In addition to that, the bibliographic production on the theme has been consulted. We conclued that the ABAG took the historical task of “Party of Agribusiness”, articulating, in civil society, the formation of Double layer of organic intellectuals and the diffusion of an image linked to social and environmental responsability. The teachers of public schools have been assuming the role of diffusors of a positive image of agribusiness.
