Abstract

This paper aims to analyse, in texts posted on the internet, the concept of Zone of Proximal Development (ZPD) – fundamental in Vigotski’s work – presenting and discussing, equally, a corret version of this concept, based on the author himself. Data were collected through Google, on the first three pages generated by the search, and the analysis was performed from the following categories, related to the concept of ZPD: courses or educational portal, scientif article, student work, illustration and video, according to the nature of the site that housed it; and adequate, partially adequate, innapropriate and absent according to its content. The concepts considered adequate were the most frequent and, for the most part, presented in scientific articles, although they did not occupy the first places in the searched pages. The first places were occupied by courses and educational portals sites in which several partially adequate and inappropriate concepts were found. The finding indicate the need to analyse the quality of sites on which to search the Internet and the importance of consulting scientific articles in these searches.
