elements to rethink the school
Abstract
What are the representations that the students have of the school? This article aims to present and discuss some aspects of this issue. Anchored in the theory of Social Representations of Serge Moscovici and situated within the qualitative research, the research was conducted with the students of the 5th grade of a public school in Campinas-SP, through the analysis of free and targeted texts about school, as well as drawings, in order to identify, describe and analyze the students' representations of the school institution. Among the results presented and discussed, we list to discuss in this article: a) the importance of legitimate pupil's voice and engage them with the other actors of the school community to participate in school decisions, in order to create an autonomous and participatory subject; b) the issue of play in elementary school; c) the need for school reorganization so that it provides an education that develops all the dimensions of the subject.
