O DESIGN COMO FORMA DE ATIVISMO

Abstract

Being perceived as a woman in this society, I had to
struggle to separate myself from what was expected
of me, although this struggle is personal and inter
-
nal, it is important that it is also external so that we
can deconstruct a perception of what it means to
be “woman” and the feminine, so that this fight will
one day become obsolete, that’s how The Guerrilla
Girls Group does it, using the graphic apparatus
using design and art as a form of activism for femi
-
nist and political agendas. This work studies a little
bit about this North American group analyzing
its graphic and political approach and shows that
despite being an old fight, we still had few results
regarding gender and race equality, not only in the
area of art, but also in politics and in the world.
