Levantamientos Sociales en la Unión Europea ¿un Ciclo de Protestas Contemporáneo?

Abstract
Since 2010 there have been some demonstrations around the world against liberal democratic political systems
and the neoliberal economical order, an interesting process for scholars. This paper focus on demonstrations in Portugal,
Spain and Greece by arguing that they are within a broader process against neoliberalism which has taken place since the
nineties. However these demonstrations have some new features such as the criticism of liberal democracy and the
enlargement of militant bases. This last feature is essential for the so-called alter-globalisation movement expansion and the
consolidation of a protest cycle around the world. This cycle could end with serious transformations inside political systems
and economic order.
