Abstract

In cities there are abandoned, or underused, spaces that can be used to offer  leisure, culture and social interaction, such as urban interstices and their resignification possibilities. In an architectural context, homeodynamic environments are those that contribute to homeostasis, preservation and restoration of life. The objective of this article was to investigate and reflect on the dynamics and transformations generated by cultural occupations for the re-signification of urban interstices and the promotion of health and well-being. A literature review and an experience report were used to analyze the homeodynamic potential of cultural occupation and the insertion of this process in the context of OcupaColaborativa in Jundiaí, São Paulo. It was observed that this occupation configured a homeodynamic environment in the biological, sociocultural and urban spheres. The expansion of the possibilities of that space, previously abandoned, met demands for leisure, culture, representation and belonging. The movement made possible a plurality of artistic and cultural expressions, supporting the development of healthy cities.
